How Picazor works
Start with curiosity. Follow a simple sequence to turn scattered inspiration into a direction you can explain.
01. Begin with a question
Before saving anything, ask what you are trying to understand. A useful question narrows the search without deciding the answer in advance. For example, what would make this idea feel energetic yet approachable?
Write down your question and keep it nearby. It gives you a way to decide which references belong and which are merely interesting.
02. Collect the right references
Gather images, colors, textures, and compositions that suggest possible answers. Record the reason each one caught your attention and preserve its source.
The goal is not to collect everything. A few different examples can reveal more than a large set of near-duplicates. Learn more in the Picazor collecting guide.
03. Organize what you notice
Group references by theme and compare the patterns. What colors repeat? What feeling do the compositions share? Which items seem to disagree?
Build focused boards for distinct directions. Remove pieces that obscure the idea, then name the throughline in a short phrase.
04. Share the direction
Tell others what the board is meant to communicate and what decision you need to make. Distinguish the feeling of a reference from any literal details that should carry through.
Ask specific feedback questions and use the answers to make thoughtful revisions. Clear visual communication turns private instinct into a shared point of view.
05. Make a first move
Once the direction is clear enough to explain, test it in a small piece of real work. See what holds up and what needs changing. The board is a guide, not a rulebook.
Picazor is an informational guide to this process. Read the feature pages and journal for more detail, or get in touch with a question about the ideas on this site.
